Sean Shaw, whose father, Leander Shaw, Jr. was the first African American Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Florida, is an award winning attorney in his own right. He attended Princeton University graduating with an AB in politics in 2000 and received his JD from the University of Florida in 2003. 

From 2016 to 2018, Shaw served as the Florida State Representative for District 61. He made history in 2018 as the Florida Democratic Party’s first African-American nominee for Attorney General. Sean’s progressive platform sought to expand rights for consumers and hold fraudsters, corrupt politicians, and special interests accountable. Over 3,000,000 Floridians voted for his bold agenda, more than any other candidate for attorney general in state history.

As an attorney in private practice, Shaw fought for victims of the BP Oil Spill, ensuring families and businesses — whose only fault was having an unlucky address — get what they are owed. He now is an attorney at Vanguard law.

In 2019, Sean Shaw founded People Over Profits in 2019. a non-profit organization dedicated to standing against corporate influence and fighting for the rights of everyday people.
